As part of the project "Afterlives of Empire" I created a two-part artwork (both in the form of a cross) in accordance with the motto "Ora et Labora".
This cross is a mixed media work that deals with the policies of missionaries during German colonisation. It represents the public aspect of missionary work, is therefore much larger than ‘Ora ...’ and is intended to symbolise the power of the cross over Cameroon and the distorted perspective on the stolen artefacts found in European museums.
