"The shame has to change sides." This statement was made by the lawyer of Gisèle Pelicot, a woman who was raped by over 90 different men after being drugged by her husband of 50 years. She wanted the shame to lie with the perpetrators of rape rather than with the victims.
The metal piece shows 'SHAME' on one side and a summary of statements made by the rapists during their interrogation on the other. The majority of their answers showed an awareness of no injustice, which makes the statement "Shame has to change sides" all the more relevant.
